GRANDEMAR S.A. holds a privileged position among the construction material producers in Romania. Its quarries are located in the heart of Transylvania, in the area where the foundation of stone extraction and industrial processing for construction purposes was laid in 1873, with the opening of the Poieni quarry under private patronage. Poieni was the first quarry equipped with industrial techniques and technology in the field of stone extraction and processing, such as pneumatic drilling and mechanical rock crushing through crushing. Since that year and up until today, the quarrying activities in the region have continuously developed, with new quarries opening, such as those at Bologa, Morlaca, Valea Drăganului, etc. The rocks in the area have exceptional characteristics, providing high-quality quarry products, which consistently meet the quality standards required by railways and road construction companies.
GRANDEMAR S.A.'s registered office is located in Cluj-Napoca and the production activity takes place as such: in three major quarries in Cluj County: Poieni, Bologa and Morlaca, in other two quarries, smaller in extent and capacity: Valea Lungii and Bologa-Henț, and another quarry in Sălaj County: Moigrad.
The products meet the requirements of standards SR EN 13450:2003, SR EN 12620+A1:2008, SR EN 13043:2003, SR EN 13242+A1:2008, SR EN 13383-1:2003, the company having implemented and certified The Integrated Management System of Quality according to EN ISO 9001:2015, The Integrated Management System of Environment according to ISO 14001:2015 and The Integrated Management System of Occupational Health and Safety according to SR EN ISO 45001:2023.
